Update 51 FAQ

When was the ESO Update 51 release date?

Update 51 went live on PC and Mac on September 28, 2026. That was ZeniMax's announced date, moved one week later on 30 July 2026 (ZeniMax — A Message from ESO's Game Director, 30 July 2026). The Public Test Server build opened August 3, 2026. Consoles follow on ZeniMax's schedule; we do not print a console date.

Is Update 51 out?

Yes, on PC and Mac: it went live September 28, 2026, and the game's own API documentation on the live branch now reads API version 101051. If you saw September 21 quoted, that was the target before ZeniMax moved the date on 30 July 2026.

Where are the U51 patch notes?

The PTS Patch Notes v12.1.0 are on the official ESO forums, and the per-item pages above are decoded from them. We have not decoded the live patch notes: the forum's bot check blocks our reader. ZOS can change values between the PTS and live, so a number here is the PTS number.

My addons broke after Update 51. What now?

Most "out of date" warnings are one manifest line, not a broken addon. Our guide to ESO addons broken after Update 51 lists the API removed in this update, the most-used addons still flagged, and the order to fix things in.

Is there a new class in Update 51?

No. New playable classes in ESO arrive with the yearly Chapter, not with a quarterly update like Update 51.
