When is the ESO Update 51 release date?
September 28, 2026 on PC and Mac. That is ZeniMax's announced date, moved one week later on 30 July 2026 (ZeniMax — A Message from ESO's Game Director, 30 July 2026; we last checked it 2026-08-19). The Public Test Server build opened August 3, 2026. Console (Xbox and PlayStation) updates have historically followed PC/Mac by about two weeks; ZeniMax has not announced a console date, so we do not print one.
When does Update 51 come out?
The Update 51 PTS opened August 3, 2026 for public testing; the live PC/Mac launch is set for September 28, 2026. If you have seen September 21 quoted anywhere, that was the target before ZeniMax moved the date on 30 July 2026. We track our own calibrated, Brier-scored odds on these dates on the forecasts page.
Where are the U51 patch notes?
Published on the official ESO forums since August 3, 2026 (PTS Patch Notes v12.1.0). We have not yet decoded them into per-item pages here — our automatic reader cannot fetch that forum thread. The Update 51 changes we HAVE decoded independently are the removed-API break list on the Patch-Break Radar, taken from the official API documentation rather than the notes.
What's on the PTS for Update 51?
The Public Test Server has been running the Update 51 build since August 3, 2026. The exact set and skill changes are listed in the official patch notes. Addon and API changes for the same build are decoded on our Patch-Break Radar. Everything on the PTS is a test value and can change before the update goes live on September 28, 2026.
Is there a new class in Update 51?
No. New playable classes in ESO arrive with the yearly Chapter, not with a quarterly update like Update 51. Class balance and skill changes for Update 51 are in the official PTS patch notes, linked above — we have not decoded them into per-skill pages here yet.
